Look Out!!

Yup, this is what I am drivin around these days. A 2008 fully loaded Suburban with a sun roof, navigation system, automatic start-up and even On Star. Which is only a couple steps up from my 1994 2 door honda civic...minus the bra lol. Anyways, the "Suburbia" as Chris and the guys call it, is huge! When my dad first told me to drive it I was like "there is absolutely no way I will be able to drive that thing!" I was afraid I would hit someone taking a sharp turn or something, my depth perception is not really what you would call "good" you can ask Chris on that one lol. I mean the thing is a bus! But my dad reassured me that I would be fine. The first time I drove it on a main street my dad made me drive with Chris in the passenger seat (not a good idea) and my dad in the back. I didn't know where I was going, my dad was on the phone with somebody, telling me "left! left! right! right! straight, turn! turn!" Chris was trying to be helpful, but not. He was saying "watch my side! you're too close over here! pay attention!" I felt like I was in a war zone and I was driving the death machine. It was awful. I mean I am not saying that I was driving well, but all the crazy directions and dictating didn't help either. The more I drive it though the more comfortable and confident I am with driving around a bus lol. The A.C. is amazing, got to love the back up camera, oh and it even believes in short ppl. I have never tried it cuz I just move the seat all the way up, but the pedals actually come forward! Pretty cool I thought. It's kind of a climb for me to get in and out of and you will still find my leopard pillow on the driver's seat, but hey at least I will never get lost in it lol. So if you happen to be driving around Chino CA and you can barely see a driver in a car that looks like this just a warning... LOOK OUT!!

Yea I know everyone laughs when they see me pull up in that thing lol. They ask me "is the seat all the way up?" I say yup and a pillow too! lol

Hey Ashlyn, I know it's gigantic and it feels even bigger when you're driving it lol. But yes I do like it, it's a very nice car. I really like the On Star especially since it's a little crazy driving out here and I don't know where I'm going. I used it the other day when I was going to the main campus of my college, I got there on time and safe and sound lol.
But if I had my choice I would for sure want a smaller car. I really like the new Scion XB's but I will just have to wait for that.

This is a wonderful post!!!! I laughed until I cried. It's so cute & so, so funny!

My SUV isn't as big as yours....I still have problems maneuvering around in my vehicle...I can amagine what you feel like in yours.

As they say....practice, practice, practice helps you get better. Practicing could be a way to go shopping?

I read this post at work and just about fell out of my chair laughing. You are so funny! That thing is a rolling palace! I'm jealous of the air conditioning! lol Maybe you could could get one of those stickers that says "This truck makes wide turns"! lol

Seriously though honey, you will do fine driving it! You are cautious and you are aware that you are driving a very large vehicle. A lot of people driving those monsters drive them like they are a little car.

That is very cool of your dad...
